Hello Everybody!  Miss E-J here!

Way back in the “before kids” part of my life I worked in the corporate world and saw many leading UK companies practice business in so many ways.  The one that resonated most with me was Marks & Spencer, a company that practiced compassion and good business using social and corporate responsibility to achieve its core business goals.  That stuck with me!

Roll forward 3 children, 2 international moves and the creation of my dream - a wonderful creative small business - and here I am celebrating the generous nature and abilities of our TipToe Music families, team and partners!

My goal as the founder of TipToe Music has always been to create and lead a good business.  We want to make the world a better place through music and we do this in many different ways – but at this time of year we create opportunities for our families and communities to give back to those who need more that we do – we do this through our annual Holiday Jingle and in support of Safetynet Charities. Now in its seventh year it’s become a staple on our calendar and we’ve even won an award!

I first met Bill Shields from Safetynet in 2014 when I was a newcomer to Canada with lots of kids clothes that didn’t fit, a stroller that was no longer needed and a travel cot that was looking for a new home.  Bill welcomed me into their Oakville location and told me what to do and the rest is history! My family have been supporters ever since.

Supporting the communities where we lead our classes is fundamental to making the world a better place through music and how we want to behave as a good business.  From 2017-2022 TipToe Music, through the Holiday Jingle Event, has donated over $8000 to Safetynet. This year, thanks to the amazing participation of the community and the most well-attended events yet, another $4183 was donated, to bring the total to over $12,000!

It’s important to me that you hear a bit more about Safetynet so you know why we support them and why we ask you to aswell:

“The team at Safetynet provides free essential services to marginalized individuals and families. These services bring comfort and stability to those who are struggling— furniture for a barren home, plates for a bare kitchen, diapers for a precious baby, warm clothing to protect against the winds of winter, and tutoring and music lessons for children and youth. Safetynet’s facility is a sanctuary, offering a helping hand to those in need. We have over 6,500 families registered with Safetynet so far, and the need is growing.”

Bill Shields, Executive Director, says “Thanks to donors like TipToe Music, the charity can continue to provide wrap-around services to families in need. We thank them for their continued support year after year!”

So thank you to everyone who has attended a Jingle with us over the last seven years – you have helped us to do good and we hope you feel good as a result!  Music really can make the world a better place!

I wish you and your family a Happy Holiday!  Keep making the world a better place through music!
